Slow Motion

As I mentioned in my last post, I have been busy working on foundational documents for what I believe will be some of the most important institutions of the not so distant future. I will finally be flying back to Detroit tomorrow for my Thursday meeting with the Mayor’s Group Planning Executive about the “New Detroit Project.”

Something strange just happened: I looked at the “Day 28” that I just typed for this post, and it shocked me! I’m 28 days into this skate across America, and though I’m not as physically far as I expected (academy opportunity came earlier than expected and has paused me temporarily), I feel like I’ve been moving at warp speed. So much has happened since I originally left Michigan back in September that it almost feels like it was a year ago. I’ve been seriously stretched, but I can see that I’m growing.

When things move this fast, and life-altering changes occur daily, it can begin to feel as if the rest of the world is in slow-motion. It’s rather bizarre. I’m not sure how well I’m going to reintegrate back into being a “normal human being” by the time this year is over. Hopefully, I won’t.
