A Hot and Cold Day
Dillon and I bit the bullet today and went to get the furnace repaired in the Freedom Mobile (AKA motor home – AKA “Millennium Falcon”). The service center at Hawley’s RV near southern Raleigh was able to repair it surprisingly quickly, but it was a bit expensive: $514. Turns out that we had to replace the main circuit board and burner.
A few months earlier, I would have been pretty freaked-out by an unexpected $500 expense, but I think I’ve grown a bit. It’s not because I’m rolling in cash here or anything; rather, it’s because I’ve faced down a lot of seemingly impossible obstacles from the preparation phase to the actual skate. I’m starting to become much more comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. In some twisted way, I was almost thankful for the $500 expense, because it showed me how far I’ve come.
Let my journey be an example to you: The more your learn to see past your problems and calmly keep your eyes focused on the goal, the more you will find the ability to walk right through obstacles.
A Little Bit of Nastiness…
Today was also the day I decided to do some long-needed “plumbing” repair work on the Freedom Mobile… Let’s just leave it like this: It was bitter cold, it was disgusting, I never want to do it again, but it’s done. 🙂 On to brighter days!
