Waking Up to Opportunity

Yesterday, I woke up to a voicemail from the Mayor’s Office for the city of Detroit. Dan from APV and I are now confirmed for a meeting with the Mayor’s Group Planning Executive about the possibility of building an academy for entrepreneurs in Detroit. That is part of my overall vision for this skate. I want to inspire Americans to take ownership of their lives and passionately pursue their dreams as entrepreneurs and pioneers; this skate is the example. But the academy is the final substance and opportunity for action. It will be a place where people come not to earn a degree or certificate, but to get the mindset, tools, resources, and connections they need to launch their dreams. It will be a place where class involves actually building your business!

I won’t get into the details of the business plan right now, but it’s not too audacious to state that it will be the most innovative academy in the country, built in the city that needs it the most! That’s why I’m willing to take a quick flight back to Detroit for the meeting and fly back here to continue the skate. No worries: This skater is still moving! I’ll keep you posted as this exciting opportunity develops!

    • Thanks Gary! I’m very excited about the Academy. It’s so needed right now. The real task is in helping people to want what they need!
