Skate Update

Today’s skate was much better than yesterday’s. The roads were smoother, the traffic was lighter, and there were less hills. It’s ironic, because the day before Thanksgiving is historically the biggest travel day of the year in the US, but I was skating toward the middle of nowhere (I just arrived in the middle of nowhere late this afternoon!) 😉

I had a cool experience today: While I was skating through south Petersburg, some women drove up in a truck and told me that they owned a coffee shop called “Demolition Coffee” just up the road. They were excited about what I was doing and offered me some free food and refreshments at Demolition Coffee. I had a great talk with the owner, and it was definitely an enjoyable stop. I will expound upon some insights I gained during our conversation in tomorrow’s post. What a nice break from Starbucks!

I have an idea for a pretty cool post, but it will have to wait until tomorrow, as Dunkin Donuts is about to close. BTW: I heard that the Freedom Skater crew is cooking up a pretty cool Thanksgiving Day video… 😉 Check back tomorrow night to see it!
